John Trejo's '53 Mercury Project...

John Trejo's 1953 Mercury Kustom is a backyard garage project started over a year ago by his dad, Pete "Nano" Trejo, his nephew Vince and himself.  John found this car over ten years ago while attending the Rat Fink Reunion Car Show with his good friend George Garza.  They have done all the work by themselves at the Trejo residence in Nipomo CA.  They have been cutting, splicing, drilling, fabricating and painting with Nano being the lead in this labor of love.  Nano has been showing his skills and proving to be a good welder and fabricator for the crew.  The rear window is a piece that I sold John, which is from a 1949 Chevy Fleetline.  Nano fabricated the '49 rear window to fit the Merc, which in John's own words "came out Bad Ass".  John hopes to have this Sled running in the near future with intentions of making it his daily driver. John is also hoping to have the '53 in this years West Coast Kustoms Car Show in Santa Maria, which is just a short cruise from Nipomo, CA.  I will be updating this build with more photos on Sunday morning.
