On Friday I had the honor of having Trent Sherrill photograph my '46 Ford. Trent came out to my house in the Lake Marie area of Santa Maria, CA and we found the perfect location for the shoot. It was an older home just around the corner from my house. Trent waited throughout the day for the perfect lighting and then went to work. Trent showed me some previews of the shoot that looked amazing. I can't wait to see the final photos of the shoot.
Drive-In Romeosis best described as Rock “n” Roll Rhythm & Style. The band hails from the West Coast of California and features Don Gonzales Jr. up front on Guitar & Lead Vocals, Mark Garza on Upright Bass, Mike Gonzales on Drums and Ray Williams on Saxophone. The Romeos sound is an early San Fernando Valley style Rock “n” Roll with a modern flair. The Drive-In Romeos are always dressed to impress and ready to Rock “n” Roll which makes any Drive-In Romeos show a must see for all.
Drive-In Romeos are currently taking a break through the end of December and are also in the process of recording their upcoming CD which will be out soon.
Drive-In Romeos are booking for 2014 so if you have an event and need a band please contact them through the website, Facebook or Instagram.
Paul Garland from Sacramento CA, also known as @fastdraw48 on Instagram, sent me these photos of his chopped 1948 Ford. I have to say that Paul's Ford, even in it's unfinished state has to be one of the nicest Traditional Kustoms out there today.
Shawn Obrien owns this Stylish 1959 Chevy Wagon. This is the Wagon that went from California to Texas and back on a road trip with Shawn's family to attend the 2013 Lone Star Roundup.
Shown found this 1960 Mercury grille from a friend of his named Jeff of the Beatniks car club and the rest is history. Over the weekend Shawn's car was at Garza Kustoms shop in Nipomo CA where we installed the grille. Shawn just has a few more minor touches to complete the grille work. The grille looks great as is but later we will end up doing some Mild Kustom work around the grill to make it a nicer fit.
I will update in a couple days with the final completion photos of the grille in Shawn's Chevy.
If you would like me to post photos of your car please email me at one of the above email addresses. Remember, I am always looking for great Kustoms to post so if you have taken any photos from the past shows please get them to me and I will post with your photo credit.
My name is Mark Garza and I collect photos, old and new, of Traditional Kustoms and Hot Rods. I have been involved with Hot Rodding since I was just a young kid. It was first through my Uncle’s stories of his old times and also his little page magazines that I now collect. At age twelve I found my first car, it was a '55 Plymouth which I still have today. At age sixteen I was brought into the Lowrds car club in Fresno California. That’s when my love for Kustoms really began.
Now, along with my Dad and Brother, we build Kustoms & Hot Rods, mostly for hobby but also for sale. My Dad is Arnold Garza, an awesome metal man who has built some great Kustoms over the years. We are all members of Headhunters Kustom Kars.
This blog is dedicated to showing some of the best Kustoms and Hot Rods of past and present and is also an avenue for buying, selling and trading old, rare and unique Kustom & Hot Rod cars and parts.
Enjoy the site.
