Richie Valles from Unique Twist Body Shop in Burbank CA owns this Stylish '59 El Camino. Richie's car has to be my all time favorite 59 El Camino. The paint is a work of art in itself and really has to been seen with your own eyes to know what I am talking about. The color is perfect and the roof and entire inside of the bed including the fin tops are micro flaked. A set of Astro Supremes sets it off just right for that early 60s Kustom look.

Old Friends...
Some old friends of mine who actually started me in world of Kustoms have contacted me recently through Stylish Kustoms. They are J.W. Cunningham and Marc Kellam who were the original members of Lowrds Car Club. J.W. brought me into Lowrds when I was just 16 years old.
I attended the KKOA Sled Scene West car show at the Lodi Grape Festival grounds for two years in a row with the Lowrds.
J.W. Cunningham owns the 1950 Ford Business Coupe with the yellow light in the center bullet of the grille. I always liked J.W.s car the most while in the Lowrds. That's my 55 Plymouth back in 1984. The Lowrds helped me lower it and we attended many shows with it back in 84-85.
Last summer Marc and his friend Tim built this 1927 Rod in just 11 weeks. That is Marc and his wife Karen. Marc also has a 1946 Ford Coupe in many pieces that will be built someday.

Chuck Small - Original Hot Rodder...
One day after surfing my friend Sean and I stopped by Chuck Small's shop in Santa Maria, CA for a little tour of his shop. Chuck has been Hot Rodding since the early days and was involved with he LA Roadsters for many years. Chuck has numerous photos posted up of all the cars he has had over the past years and today he still has some very nice Hot Rods. Chuck told us some great stories of his runs at El Mirage and Muroc and then showed us his 34 Ford. I frequently see Chuck at the local cruise nights and car shows in his Stylish 36 Ford. More photos to come soon...

KUSTOMS...
I like all old cars but Kustoms are my favorite style. I have two Kustoms and I am currently building a Hot Rod. There is nothing like cruising in a cool Kustom and the good thing is you have plenty of room for friends and family in the car.

Santa Maria Local...
J. R. Kerr is a Santa Maria local that I met a few years back at the Elks Car Show. I was driving my 1940 Chrysler and he came up and inspected it thinking it may be his Dodge due to the Packard grille. J.R. told me that he got his Dodge in 1948 and shortly after that he dinged up the front end so he fixed it by adding the Packard grille. J.R. is still as cool today as he looks in the photo above and I am very glad to have met him.
